Tire pressure

Any vids on using the tire pressure gauge and filling the tires with air? It's kind of a pain with the back tire.

Yup it gets kind of tight. But remember it is essential that you carry the proper pressure. You only got two tires.

I've got generic, throw over saddle bags supported by sari guards, so yea, it can be a bear to reach that back tire.

Start by moving the bike until the valve stem is in a good position for you to reach. Looking at it from the right side of the bike, that's usually someplace between the 5 o'clock and 9 o'clock position for me. Others with less stuff on their bike may have more options.

I normally wind up lying on the ground with my head on the right side of the tire. Others might be able to kneel, but I'm old, fat, and inflexible.

I reach around from the left side with the air gauge or air chuck in my left hand and use my right hand, from the right side of the wheel, to help position them. The air gauge and the air chuck both have a right angle built into them.

It was uncanny the timing. I had to get my back tire plugged twice.

I hadn't touched the air in forever, and I used to drive all over the shoulder, so I thought that was really strange.

The last time I got a weird complete flat like that I accidentally jacked with the screw in the chuck, and I essentially let all the air out on my own on accident. I was thinking not again.

I think I just got unlucky with a lot of construction around me.

One thing I did notice at this local tire shop was an extender that you can throw on the chuck to make it flexible. I'm going to look into seeing how much they are. That's how they were able to do it real easy.

I like that lay down tip. I haven't been able to see all the videos and links yet.

When it is time to replace rear tire put in a Good 90 degree value stem. Do not use the add on extension type. It will fail you .

At home I use this on all the bikes and cars. Set pressure you want clip in the hose turn it on it shuts down when pressure is where you want it no messing around.
