Starter

Battery seems fine, full headlight and indicator lights. Hit starter and hear one crank, then click click click. Ideas?

If you take the seat off, You'll see the Solenoid. If you try jumping the two Posts to see if cranks? If not, Then I would say likely the Starter Motor. By doing this, You're Bypassing the Starter Solenoid(Relay as some call it) Like the old Ford vehicles.

Thanks Jersey. If the problem is the start motor, I should be able to start by pushing & popping the clutch? Just thinking of how to get to the dealer.

Put a voltmeter on the battery and try it again. I'll bet the voltage drops way below 13v, indicating a bad battery, not the starter. If the voltage stays around 13, I'd start looking for a dirty or loose connection next. Truly rare for a started to fail...

A Starter Draw can go down to about 10V. Remove the Side Covers. There is a Copper Stud on the Left(Kickstand side) for Ground. Positive would be easier to access under the seat. From the Stud on the Solenoid. My Suggestion would Bypass the Start Button and Solenoid. Assuming a Good Battery, Would Power the Starter directly.

I have personally seen New parts defective right out of the box.

Apparently the street rod has a widespread starter defect. My dealership picked it up and replaced it free of charge. Hopefully the next one doesn't crap out on me...

Battery Tender Junior saved me. Came with a quick connect harness, and surprisingly I got it all done without breaking or losing anything. Factory should install a harness on every bike, because getting to the battery is rediculous. YouTube video with a couple Brits helped a lot.
