HD drag bars and bar end mirrors

Does anyone have experience putting bar end mirrors on HD brand drag bars. They are not hollow but not solid either. They have a small, maybe 3/8 hole in the end. Im wondering if I can tap the hole and screw the bar end mirrors directly to the bars.

No experience Jeff, but it will all depend on the thickness of the metal surrounding that 3/8 hole. You'd want to have at least a 1/4" or more depth of thread (depending on what size of fixing screw you want / need to use) to be able to screw into and not risk stripping the threads out of the bar end when you tighten the mirror screw up.

Hi I was looking at bar end mirrors to put on my drag bars only to find a small hole in the ends I had another look yesterday and found that those holes are threaded! So I had a look online and found that allot of triumph bars are similar and watched how they fit and it should be pretty similar to the drag bars I order some online last night and will be attempting to fit them next week I will just have to find a way to leave a space between the mirror and the throttle!

I just searched bar end mirrors on amazon got ones which had a rubber washer instead of the metal ones only thing I had to do was get a smaller bolt to fit the threaded hole in the drag bars they worked perfectly!

How about the opposite? Removing the stock bar end mirrors from a '17 XG750a? Difficulty level?

Removal shouldn't be a problem. If you go to the HD site and shop for parts they have links to the installation manual for each part. Look up the bar and mirrors and you will see that the removal is quite simple. You will also find that HD has some bar end plugs available. Then it's a simple matter of a clamp on bracket to install regular mirrors, if required in your locality.
