Thicker tyres

Hi friends...
Any suggestions on thicker front and rear tyres on Street 750...
If yes please post the pics and specifications...

What do you mean by "thicker" tires? Are you referring to wall thickness, tread depth, or simply wider tires?

Then the problem is wider wheels and not tires. There are no after market wheels for the Street 500/750 yet to my knowledge. We can find tires for almost any size wheel.


Of note I'm making custom wire spoke wheels for my Street 750 chopper project and the greatest problem I have is that there are no after market 80-tooth drive sprokets which is what the Street 750 has. I'm having to switch to a 70-tooth and even that is on back order from J&P Cycles. This requires a different speedometer that is programable (I'm using a Dakota Digital MCL-5400) because of the change in the final drive ratio. It is a very expensive change.

If you change the sprocket and have 70 teeth as compared to the original 80 tooth sprocket,your final drive ratio will change, as you have already mentioned. My question is to maintain the final ratio have you changed or are planning to change the primary sprocket at the gear box end also? Otherwise, to my mind, the deliverable power will reduce.

The only issue is related to the increased final drive ratio in first gear starting out but the 750 has more than enough power and with a six-speed gearbox the final drive doesn't make much difference. Also remember that my chopper will be considerably lighter than the stock 750 so the power-to-weight ratio is still going to be very good for the motorcycle.

Ok let me put it in simple words...
I was to replace rear tyre of street 750...

Original tyre ratio: 150/70-15 67H
My Proposed tyre ratio: 180/80-15

Street 750 tyre upgrade

Guys,

Did anyone changed tyres on street 750 ?

I am fed up with the squealing sound of my MRF tyres everytime i brake. These are the same quality tyres which are on Bajaj pulsar bikes.*

Any suggestions, i was considering following :

Front :

Couple of options in 100/80-17*

1. IRC
2. Michelin Pilot Sport Radial
3. MRF Zapper
4. Pirelli Sport Demon

Rear:

MRF website shows Rear ZAPPER VYDE 150/70 - 15 TL. also available in 170

couldnt find any other option for rear.

what do you think?

I'm still waiting on my wheel manufacturer to finish development of rear wheels for the Street before selecting the actual tire. Also remember that if you change the tire circumference it requires a gearing change and/or a programmable speedometer.
