How Long

So It seems Harley and the dealers look at the Street 500-750 as a bike to begin with
The dealer I bought from will give you all your money back toward a bigger bike with in one year
So my question is how many bought the Street for a short time till you can move up? Lets say 1-2 years ?

It is what it is.

Lucky guy.

There's no way mine would consider anything like that

our stealer wont give ya but book value at the most towards a trade in.

no problem here. I bought mine to keep.

instead of working my way up,... I will keep this bike.
it is lighter and easier to handle than the big bike I currently still have.

for the style of riding I do now that I'm retired, it suits me perfect.

my dealership (H-D of Manila) didn't offer any discounts if i plan to upgrade.

street750 is the cheapest bike in their inventory, and from following their facebook posts, they sell a lot more streets and sportsters compared to big v-twins (or maybe the big v-twin buyers opt out of being put on facebook)

2015 XG750 made in India

Something interesting I've noticed recently ........................

A lot of people say the 500, or the 750, are great "starter bikes" or a good bike for a "female", or person of "smaller stature"

Well ........... I've had a few bikes over the years and still own a 2010 Boulevard C50T cruiser. I'm also in my early 60's, and retired. It seems that I'm seeing a lot of "male" owners, and quite a few "retired" owners. In fact it seems like more of these 2 combined, than there are female owners.

I'm not complaining, or bashing female owners. It's a great bike, and I'm loving mine!

Originally, when I acquired my 750, I got it thru a charity ride I participate in, and won it at the nights banquet. My initial thoughts were: 1) The Street 750 is too small for my stature ........... I'm 5'10", about 225, stocky with 30" inseam, and 2) I'll sell the bike.

The more I ride this bike, the more I love it! It's quick, agile, great fuel economy, stable on the highways at a constant 120 km/hr+ speeds ............... I'm thinking I may just keep it!

I was just surprised at all the "retired male riders"!

I guess my expectations were to see more younger, 1st time female owners. Boy, was I wrong!

RIDE SAFE!

A lot depends on what type of riding you plan to do. If you are only going to commute to and from work and short trips then the street is perfect if you are comfortable with the bike.

If you plan to do serious riding I wouldn't do it on a street that's for sure. The bigger bikes are way more comfortable and made for long distance. I have a 14 road King and just had my 20,000 mile service and completed 2 iron butts (1000 and 1500).

I also won the street and thought I'd sell it right away. I decided to keep it awhile and use it for a fun around town bike. Will it replace my king no but it's not made too.

I wouldn't worry about what is a girls bike retired persons bike etc. if you like your bike and are comfortable riding it who gives a **** what others think. I heard all the sporty jokes when I was first riding now I get the your bike is too big for you crap (I'm a female) and I just laugh and ask them how many miles they ride then walk away grinning when they notice my iron butt patches ?

@ Nowgfstcat,

I agree, the STREET isn't the best choice for riding the Iron Butt. LOL

I've done 800 miles in a single night/early morning on my 500. Only thing that would make it better suited for the same trip again is a better seat.
