why is it so hard to find info on street after market parts?

Hey guys/girls just wondering why its so hard to find information on aftermarket street parts is it that theres not many parts that fit yet (they have been out awhile now) or m i just looking in all the wrong places? I've got so much i wanna change on the street and just not finding the information needed and my local dealer seems to know nothing not many bike builders i know have touched a street yet so its just feeling like its going to be alot of work getting this bike where i want it thought the aftermarket seen would be booming. Even just basic stuff like bigger rims I'm have trouble finding info on . Found a post on this forum with two bikes both with bigger wheels saying its just bolt on parts but OP never says where the wheels/rims come from or what was involved. Also wanted information on boring out the motor which i had thought many would be doing only to hit dead end afterdead end although finally got that information from a bike builder in aus so is there anywhere that has a good source of information on the street 500/750???

You will probably not see too many of the bike builders making aftermarket parts for the street. They feel it's a very small market and that it's a starter bike so they will continue to keep the focus on the big twins. I had this issue with my 11 superlow sporty it was just different enough from the rest of the sportys that there were issues finding runs/tires etc. just my 2 cents

Hdeddie there is a U.S. Company called HD wheels that do spoke wheels for the street. Depending on the options you choose you're looking at 1500 plus per rim and they'll do up to 18 inch. I'm in Brisbane and when I've asked local manufacturers they've actually referred me to HD wheels so I don't think many shops do this.
I have also been looking around RE boring and have found nothing. Who did you speak to in Aus about it?

You are absolutely correct. Whatever bit of information is there is incomplete. IMO, a 19-inch Iron 883 front setup should be good, but I'm not too sure about the rear setup. Whether that involves a new swing-arm for an 18-inch wheel or the removal of quite a bit of the rear assembly, that's quite a lot for a DIY. Also need to check if the entire rear brake setup and the belt-drive assembly have to be built from scratch!

Hdwheels.com makes some custom wheels. They are pricey but look to be worth it. There is also a section that shows the max sizes that will fit the Street 500 and 750

You can also check out a company, and site, called,"Tuffside."

The site is connected to a custom bike builder known as "Chappel Customs" who have a portion of their online storefront committed to custom Street 500/750 modifications. Most of the parts they sell are actual parts they use on their modified builds of the bikes. They have amazing seats for those looking for the "Cafe Racer" conversion, as wells as wheels and other parts.

Not a ton of things but a pretty focused selection of parts for the Street.

Have a look and let me know. Keep the forum posted as to other sites you find as well. Thanks.
