I just rolled over to 10,000 miles

Less than a year after buying my 750 (April 12, 2015) I rolled over to 10,000 miles last night. On my way home I stopped by my local Dealership to schedule my 10K service and new rear tire. I have been in love with this bike since I first saw it. But now after owning it and riding the crap out of it, I have noticed that to other Harley riders, we kind of get looked down on like they used to do to Sportster riders. Even been told my bike looks like a Honda, and sounds like a dirt bike by other Harley enthusiasts. I feel it's a baby Harley, my stepping stone to get me into the world of motorcycling, and how many of these guys that talk all that garbage actually put 10K miles on in a year, or started riding on a brand new Harley........I bet not many. Just wanted to share. Oh and I also just scored a tallboy seat off Ebay for less than half of retail....

@750STREETRIDER,

" I have noticed that to other Harley riders, we kind of get looked down on like they used to do to Sportster riders."

[They] probably don't have much of a life beyond their ride. I've actually had some [other] "Harley riders" express an interest in the STREET. I believe that it doesn't matter what you ride, as long as you ride!

Get a Firebrand Grand Prix muffler. They'll think you have a Larger bike.

10k Miles and a New rear tire?? I had 14,400 on the Majesty. The tire had decent tread left.

I have the Vance & Hines slip-on and high flow intake. My 750 will get up and go, and have yet to have trouble keeping up with my HOG chapter, even on freeway on-ramps. So it does sound A LOT better than that stock sewing machine exhaust. But no matter the slip-on, to me it will will never have that deep Harley rumble we all love.....potato potato potato potato..... or the rough idle .......and yes, new rear tire @ 10k......it hit the tread wear bars a few hundred miles back. I have been told that the hot riding conditions here in California can reek havoc on motorcycle tires, especially with a lot of highway riding (which I do on the weekends) Can also tell I like my left turns better than the right ones, as the left side of my tire is worn a bit more than the right side.

Awesome Congrats on the 10k! I love this bike also she's like a baby V Rod. Don't worry about those so called arrogant HD riders they are not real motorcycle lovers if they think like that. I bet they don't ride year round! I say she sounds like a Honda (have the TBR slip on) has a nice low note but not like your standard Harley but I think is sounds great! At work always getting complements on the STREET and recently the sound of her (she sounds like she looks)

I've had my street 500 for a year and have just 2k miles. But I'm now putting 320 miles a week on it.

I went to the dealer and test drove a used v-rod muscle just for fun. V&H pipes and fp3 just like my street has. It followed me home?!?

It still doesn't beat the street for commuting. It's a beast but sucks gas and isn't a comfy ride on bumpy city streets. Also requires ear plugs. I love both of themy for different reasons.

Don't even bother trying to explain to an old Harley die hard why a radiator is a good thing. Let them have their fun. But have your own fun.

Frankly, it's somewhat understandable, as they do the same thing to V-Rod riders too.

But I think the Sportster is gaining more acceptance among them now because, hey, at least it's air-cooled, etc.

So maybe the Street guys just have to remind those old folks about the Topper, (yes, that really was an actual Harley) and they'll start appreciating the Street more...
