2-up riding on the Street 750

Hey guys, I'm considering buying a new Street 750. I saw it yesterday and the wife and I really liked it. We ride together a lot and I want to make sure its got enough power to get up and go. We sometimes do longer trips on the bike, at highway speeds. Im currently riding a Suzuki DR650, that I bored to a 790cc. Its a single cylinder dual-sport that I've converted to a super-moto. It has enough power for the two of us. What do you guys think?

I have never driven long distances on the 750 two up, but around town there is no problem. I did notice the stopping distance was lengthened with 2 people, but the 2016 streets have pretty good braking. 2015 just average. How far do you guys travel?

A normal day of riding for us is 100-200 miles around Long Island, NY. It's a combo of some highway riding, some stop and go, and some back roads. When we ride for vacation it's usually to upstate,ny. Those trips are around 350-500 miles in a day, then daily riding 50-200 depending were we are exploring. My DR650 has terrible brakes too, so before I replaced everything with better parts I learned to ride using more rear brake and engine braking.

Enough power for the Street 750 is not nearly as much an issue as enough room. The Street 750 is a tight bike. It's one of the reasons I love it, as I am a small rider. I cannot ride a passenger two-up, but have been on the back of my own Street when the boyfriend and I have two-upped on my bike to grab his bike at his warehouse. Around town it is comfortable two-up, but I cannot say for any real distance. I get tired myself on the bike at around 350 miles into the day, so I cannot imagine what that day would be like two-up, Perhaps with an upgraded seat this would not be an issue.

Upgrade the seat, as part of the purchase deal!

Ya I wouldn't recommend Street for long rides with passenger. The power won't be an issue as much as the seating.

Im over 6 ft and feel somewhat squished when riding with a passenger. I love it riding on my own because its so nimble and light.

Mustang makes a Nice 2 rider seat. A Vintage Touring Seat. Havent seen it in person, But it looks nice in the online pics. I changed mine to the Fast Back seat. And as my luck runs, Raining since last week. And up until Mon or Tuesday next week. Its looking like a week and half rain here in NJ.

You could try to have them install the Luggage Rack and Sissy Bar.

I was thinking about getting the Tall seat from HD. I'm 5 foot 8 and touch the ground fine but my wife said she would like a little more room between her are the pegs. Remember, we are coming from essentially a dirt bike... Anything with 2 seats is bigger! Lol

I should be getting a tall seat in next week, Ill let you know how much of the difference it makes. I am 5'11" and I do feel a little squashed with a second rider, but if you are coming from a dirt bike, this will feel like a huge upgrade!

Just checked out he seats on mustangs website...very nice! I like that vintage seat a lot. Might end up getting it.

I ended up putting a deposit down on a 2015 with 6300 miles... Just waiting for the paperwork to go thru and I'll have my first Harley!
