XG900 Street in the future.

Just curious to see how many 500 or 750 rider's would be interested in trading in their bike for an XG900 Street version if Harley came out with one. As an ex Kawasaki Z1/ KZ 900 mechanic, every time I get behind my XG 750 tank , it's shape kind of reminds of the old Z1/KZ so it just brought about thought's of a XG 900 version.

I might be interested. Just that I would have to see it in person. To see if it is something I can physically handle. Weight wise. I have a bad shoulder from a previous motorcycle accident.

The Kawasaki Z/K900 was way more successful than the KZ1000 in it's life time , even more successful than the Z1R because it was a more nimble bike with the almost equivalent power of the bigger bike, more power doesn't always equate to a successful bike . I've even read that the KZ650 outsold the KZ900 and KZ1000. Anyway, with the nimbleness of the XG 750 , a 900 version might be an interesting choice for some people who could use a little more power than the 750 but at the same time, not want to be overwhelmed by the power of a 1K cc bike. In all honesty though, for me, as a long time lover of the old Z1, maybe this thought is just wishful thinking and wanting to have the qualities of both the XG750 Street and the Z1 in one bike. Thanks for your opinion on the forum topic.

I would love to ride XG900. The bike might have a lot of exciting features.

Just comparing the water-cooled 750 against the air-cooled 883 their performance is similar, but the 750 scores on fuel consumption. The water-cooled 900 would be in direct competition with the 1200 air-cooled motors. The 1200 will score on torque but the 900 should be able to hold its own in the speed bracket. Again the winning feature will be a better fuel consumption by the 900.

My 2 cents worth and yes I would consider one.

It would also put it in direct competition with the new triumph bonneville street twin which has a liquid cooled 900 engine

i dont think Harley will ever do a Street 900
I really think this is a bike to move up to their bigger bikes
I believe when we bought our Street 750 for my wife we were told they would give us all our money back toward a bigger bike for the first year or two
i really think that harley brought these out for one reason
A starter big to get you on Harley right from the start

It is what it is….

You are probably right JSA, it was just wishful thinking on my part when I posted the question. My favorite bike of all time is the Kawasaki, Z900 and in February I was given XG750 as a present, I guess there is just a part of me that would like to have both bikes in one. Anyway, for now the 750 is fine, I can always look for an old Z as a companion bike. My cousin has an old Z, I've joked with him about leaving it to me in his will. lol.
