Extra key?

Anyone find any place that has blanks to make duplicate keys? I would like to get one without the rubberized coating so I can put it on my Keysmart key organizer. Checked a couple of places but they didn't seem to have a blank.

Pretty sure that because the key is chipped you have to get them from the dealership

Is the key chipped? I haven't found anything that says it is.

The key's too small & the bike too cheap to have a chipped key.

Kind of what I thought. I know they use the barrel keys on the more expensive bikes. And they sell the security package that adds a transponder in a key fob for an immobilizer. So I wouldn't expect this key to be chipped.

When I was given my keys they came with a tag that had a number was on it. I was told I would need that number to get replacement keys for my bike otherwise i would have to replace the ignition for new keys

Yup, No chip, and the key code is on the metal tag you got when you picked up the bike.

Any reputable lock smith should have the blank

That is probably for if you don't have a key to make a copy from. I have both of my original keys so that shouldn't be a problem.

When I had the Yamaha Majesty I went to Home Depot. They don't have keys for Motorcycles. Told me to buy one at the dealer and they'll cut it for free.
There is no Chip in the Key. Not on the US ones anyway. The European Majesty had an Alarm system. US models didn't. Go figure. I put a Scorpio on it myself.
