pulley crash thread

Any one having a pulley come loose? My xg let loose about 5800 miles. I heard some squeaking noises then nothing, a few times at stoplights then Im on the longest straight stretch of 4 or 5 miles start decelerating to about 35 still slowing then a knock sort of muffled and then something winding like sound and I noticed at this same moment loss of power and the motor revving way above the speed it had been previously moments before with the same throttle position. I stopped and tried to pull it down a path out of the sun but then the tangled mass of fibers that were previously formed in to the belt caught and slammed the bike to a halt and caught me off balance lunging with the bike forward. I kept it upright barely and then called for help. I waited 2 hours for AAA to come they called back saying the were still looking for a provider in your area.so I made arrangements to be picked up and went and got my own trailer. The rv portion of my AAA policy is calling into question its worth.Does Harleydavidson had updated parts or are they going to be replaced with current parts?

in the picture you can plainly see where the pulley came through the cover.

Did you have the 1,000 mile maintenance done at your dealer? Seems like they tightened up so many things on my bike that it probably would have fallen apart if I hadn't done it.

I had the 1k Service. Also, One of the larger (5mm allen) Screws came loose. The one that holds the Airbox to the front cylinder. Discovered it when I went to install my V&H VO2 Intake

My dealer has been good to me so far, 1k free 5k $190.00 including washing the bike. I hope they continue to do so. I can't see anyway they could want to charge me anything this should be a total warranty coverage situation, but we will see.
