side stand loose

HI All,

i have a HD street 500 and the side stand its kind of lose, it has a little movement when i try to move it , is this normal??

Also, does anybody know whats the size of the seat bolt as i want to change that one for one i can unscrew without the screw driver??

Seat screw is 1/4" x 20. It's one if, if perhaps the only, imperial (non-metric) screws on the bike.

After loosing 2 screws in less than 2 years, I replaced mine. With an Allen head screw, Flat and Lock washer. All Stainless Steel. 1/4"x20x1/2" Long.

Yes the Side Stand has a little Play in it. As long as the Pin holds, You're fine. Just watch parking on the hills. Park with the bike facing Uphill. This way the weight of the bike pulls down on the Stand. Locking it into the Pin.
