Random Acceleration?

Hello everyone, I have been reading through the forums for a bit looking for an answer but I've come up empty handed. I have a 2015 Street 750 and I absolutely love the bike. The issue I am having is that when it is idle it sounds as if I'm revving it but I won't even touch the throttle. When I am riding from time to time it feels as if I'm fully twisting the throttle even though I'm keeping my hand as still as I can. Has anyone else experienced this or perhaps have answer for what is happening? I'd hate to have to go off and take it to the dealership and pay an arm and a leg for what could be nothing. Thanks everyone.

I would take your air cleaner off. And check the T-body for dirt. I have had to clean mine a few times from the Oily Blow By. Mine had the Screw that holds the air cleaner backing plate to the front cylinder come loose. A few people had it sucked down their intake. Obviously not good.
Another thing, Since you didn't mention the Maintenance, is putting some Lucas fuel Injector cleaner in the gas. Check the Spark Plugs. When I did some short trips, I noticed mine was starting(Cold) at a slower Idle Speed. Cleared up after a long run.

Normal operation is to start with a Fast Idle. Then kick down.

I do not know if this procedure will work on the streets but it might be worth a try.

Potential reason for sudden acceleration

Zelow202, Has your XG750 had the fuel pump replaced under recall. That had potential to cause sudden acceleration.
There are lots of posts on here that explain the "lag and leap" acceleration problem.
My 2015 XG750 had that problem. Check your VIN at

DanIII, Thanks for the link to HD diag codes, will be useful...
