Street 750 Clutch Cable

So I was out riding today, about 30 minutes in my clutch cable snapped as I went into first gear at a traffic light. Bike just hit 3000 miles and I had it since it was brand new. I never adjusted the cable I always left it as the way I received the bike. Was wondering if this ever happened to anyone else so prematurely? Kinda ruins my confidence in the OE cable so I'm looking for a stronger aftermarket solution.

That's the most common failure point for a cable. Did it break or separate from the metal cylinder on the end? If it broke, it may have been a lubrication problem.

It looked like a clean separation aside from a few of the fibers in the cable. There is no fraying on the wires. Honestly didn't know I had to lube that spot.

Cables need occasional lubrication, usually with light oil, don't over do it. The metal cylinder needs to be lubed also so that it rotates smoothly in the lever without binding. Pulling out of the metal cylinder usually indicates binding somewhere.
