Review Street Road XG750A

For what its worth, a little review of my 8 month old 2018 Street Rod XG750A at 8,000 kilometres. The bike remains in standard fare except for the Bassani slip on pipe.

There have been no issues at all with the running of the bike either mechanical or electrical and indeed, it is a fun bike to ride, love the belt drive. The seat is pretty good and the ride position OK however I still have problems with the location of the high right hand peg but have decided to live with it. The clutch is good and changes are smooth and positive. The brakes are OK but in emergencies or hard braking, limits can be found in suspension/frame.
On the road when ridden as a cruiser, what it is, the bike performs well with the suspension accepting normal road undulations and bumps up to + or – 110kph. It can run out of puff during passing on the freeway once past 120kph when the acceleration slows down. If one becomes a “boy racer” in the twisties the frame and/or suspension can easily become over taxed and create stability concerns.

At the end of the day it’s a Harley and the fun is there to be enjoyed and for the price of the bike it represents value for money.

I have owned and ridden many bikes over the last 30 years, first 15 were Japanese & last 15 years have been 5 BMW's so this is my first Harley. At 81 years, I needed something low and I thought there had to be a HOG in the mix before I 'ride on'.

vr4king Gidday.... I reside in Canberra and my riding is done with a group of mixed bike retirees (15-25) every Wednesday although given a nice day, I will slip of a ride alone any day. Rides are always out of city to country towns for coffee and lunch averaging 250k per ride. Only a few Harleys in the group but its all about the enjoyment of the ride and bikes.
