Mirror extensions

On my 750 mirrors I had a great view of my shoulders but almost nothing behind me. I purchased Harley Black Mirror Extension Kit - 56000042 which was not meant for the 750. Needed to do some modifications to make it work. There are bolts provided to attach through the hand levers. The 750 does not have through holes. I purchased 5/16-24 x 1" grade 8 steel bolts to replace the through hole bolts. The threaded shaft of the mirror was too long for the extension so I purchased some grade 8 5/32 nuts and drilled them out to use as spacers. I painted the nuts and bolts black as I could not find blackened material.

This all worked great as I now have a much better field of view.

Hey thats alright! Nice little DIY! How much did the whole mod run you? Might just go bar end eventually, seems to suit the "look"

"Shoulder mirrors" are an HD specialty, just like their wooden seats. HD makes a lot of money selling parts they should have installed to begin with.
Glad you got your mirror situation sorted out.

I'll end up with bar end mirrors later if anything. The extension does do justice for over the shoulders.

Too bad you spent money on that extender first and now will have to go with the bar end mirrors as well. I think the bar end mirrors are the way to go. I think they match the style of the bike best.

Fortunately for them they created a lifestyle around their brand and were smart enough to do this, but of course it sucks for us.

Does Harley or some after-market supplier make bar end mirrors for the Street 750?

Tons of companies make aftermarket bar end mirrors for 7/8" handlebars. I have a set beside me right now waiting for my new bars to arrive.

The text above is my opinion. Feel free to ignore it. I do.

There are Chinese knock-offs of the Harley mirror extensions available of eBay for $12.99. As already indicated, you will have to replace the hardware with 5/16x24x1 button-head bolts, 5/16 split washers, 5/16x25 cap nuts, and 5/16 x 1/4 spacers.
