Real close to getting a chance to ride a Street 500

Me and a guy from Lafayette, IN rode up to North Judson, IN to Kerstings Harley Davidson to take a walk thru their bike museum today. Pretty cool place, LOT'S of old bikes, Harleys, Vincent, Norton, BMW, and quite a few I'd never heard of before. It was a little chilly here this morning, low 50's and who'd ever thought one would have to layer up in mid July... Ended up putting 265 miles on the Shadow though.

They were supposed to have a Street 500 in red but it won't be delivered until next week. They practically begged us to pick a Harley to test ride. I told them I would have jumped at the chance to ride the Street IF they would have had one. Heck I would have been happy to just see one and sit on it. They did have another bike in the same red color the Street is being offered in, it is a sweet color!!

Ah thats too bad hawk, the Streets seem to be coming off the truck and heading straight out the door!

Speaking of Dealer Museums, there's a dealer out in Vegas called Red Rock and they've got an entire collection of old race bikes in the show room including a Suzuki ridden by a Mister Barry Sheene

Too bad that you didn't get to test ride the Street. I feel for you. It's pretty hard to get hands on one.

Did you take any pictures of the museum? I'm sure that people would be interested to see what everything looked like.

Yeah we took a few pictures, really weren't supposed to so we didn't get too many. Of course there were ALOT of Harleys but most of them were under a display shelf above them that had other bikes on it and were not lit up real well. Since we were not supposed to take pictures we didn't want a flash going off.

Also had a few old cars, a 1950 Studebaker, 3 Rolls Royce's, a nice MG TC, a mint International pickup, a Model T, and a few others. A ton of pictures and tin signs, etc... hanging on the walls too. A rather eclectic collection of motor vehicle memorabilia. Kerstings Harley Davidson is right out in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nothing other than corn and bean fields. It's 4-5 miles south of town.

Pic #1 , look at the crazy valve springs on this old Moto Guzzi.
Pic #2 , a collection of older English bikes.
Pic #3 , a Vincent, always liked their engine design.
Pic #4 , A custom pair of bikes, one with a flathead V8, and the other with a Lincoln Zephyr V12 flathead.

As if the bikes eyes are too sensistive for flash, or are they worried about the intellectual property loses on 40 year old technology

Maybe the UV rays from repeated flashes will fade the paint...

I just figured they think if some can just look at pictures they wouldn't come up and tour the museum in person. They do charge $5 admittance.

I suppose, but by that same logic I shouldn't find myself a beautiful women because there are pictures everywhere

from what i noticed most true fan's will want to see it in person even if they saw a high quality picture of it already, nothing like seeing it in person.
