Speed Run

A few weeks ago I opened up my 750 to see what Natalie could do. I must say I was impressed with the 107 that was showing on the speedometer before I had to back off due to a few tractor trailers up ahead of me.
Today I was cruising and had a looong straight stretch of I75 in front of me sooo,.....What the h3ll, "let's do it Natalie".
I open her up and buried the speedometer hand at 110. I must say that even at that speed she was solid as a rock. I backed off and went back to a normal cruising speed (for me around 70), then I shifted to 6th gear ! I had forgotten to shift I was so caught up in the adrenaline rush. I think I will leave it at that for now, maybe after my 1K tune up I'll try it again.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way !

Poke out my minds eye. Really was buck naked important to add in. You ride clothed I hope. So that weight would have been just fine.

Thanks. I like the power the XG750 as well it flies.

I've found that the faster I'm riding the less I'm enjoying the journey....... nothing is more boring to me than a long straight highway and I prefer the twisted roads whenever I can find them. I intentionally seek them out. My favorite road typically have a speed limit of 50 mph or less and the turns are tight enough so that breaking the speed limit is really a silly thing to do.

Not to say I've not gone over 100 mph on a motorcycle but the last time I did it was in the early 1970's. It was really quite boring to go that fast.

Always remember that for every mile of highway there are two miles of ditches.

Fast is boring?
I have never felt more alive than when I am on the edge, pushing the envelope of disaster. Riding a motorcycle fast, diving from extreme heights, hunting wild game with a bow and arrow, riding a bob sled down the Olympic run at Calgary Olympic Park.
I like those beautiful scenic rides too and living in Tennessee we have plenty, But FAST IS NOT BORING.
Speed is one of the most exciting things on earth, that's why there is Nascar and Indy, etc. and everything that moves is raced sooner or later.
Fast is Boring? Hilarious.

I've been around and participated in airplane, boat, motorcycle and automotive racing for decades and in that context where "speed" is the goal it is not boring. I fully embrace and enjoy speed when that is the purpose of an event on a closed course.

Learning the difference between the "need for speed" where it is properly indulged in on a closed course that is specifically for that purpose and where it is irresponsible behavior in violation of the law is something people really should learn.

Anyone that is irresponsible by riding on a public road at over 100 mph should have their drivers license revoked, never be allowed to every have an M/C endorsement again, and should receive a minimum of six months in prison for even the first offense. It is criminal behavior and should be treated as such.

If you want to race then do it on a closed course in a sanctioned event. Don't do it on the public highways as you have no right to endanger others using the public roads.

Always remember that for every mile of highway there are two miles of ditches.
