I wouldn't recommend it for break it, I've taken it on the freeway after i modified the exhaust (so you can hear it over wind noise), and it really sounds like the bike has to work to maintain speeds over 65 MPH. Not to mention the wind beats you up bad without an actual windscreen. I did 20 minutes freeway and I was really tired (75MPH)

I'm still in the break-in period so I stay off the freeway. But for distance as opposed to speed, I took mine out for a couple hour drive in a urban area. The bike did great but my rear did not. I'm going to be replacing my seat very soon due to this.

I've spent several 250-300 mile days in the saddle, at freeway speeds up to 85 for 60 or so miles at a stretch. I've had no problem whatsoever. Probably by the later part of the runs I'm starting to feel it in that section between my lower back and upper legs (my butt). I'll be going on a 360 mile run from Denver to Moab in a few weeks for a weekend rally, and I'll be happy to report back then. Honestly though, you should have no problem. If people used to tour on CB500s and R65s, there's absolutely no reason you can't go as far as you want to on this one.

Ask me about the couple who rode from Oregon to NYC for the Motorcycle Film Festival last year. They did it on Honda Cubs. True story.

My 500 will do 75-80 on the highway, no problem. It's bone stock. As far as feel goes that's going to be person to person. I've rode as long as about 3 hours so far, but my butt was sore. I'd prefer a better padded seat for longer rides.

I rode my bike 375 miles on Sunday and it was a lovely ride, I got my speed up to 85-90 and my bike was steady, I cant wait for my next long distance ride. My longest ride on is so far has been 500 miles but I split that over 2 days. the ride on Suday was a burn and turn solo ride.

I once* rode with my wife (at the time) 2-UP on a HONDA CX-500 Deluxe from Denver to Columbus (1300 mi one way). We did 2.5 days out and 2.5 days back. I don't recall any issues and it would seem that 1-UP @ 300-400 mi on a 750 Street would be a piece-of-cake. I plan on such a trip, later on, up to the Black Hills and will then get back with everybody on how it went. I don't fully understand Post # 2.

I take post #2 to say freeway isn't recommended during break-in. The dealer told me to stay under 60mph for the first 500 miles. Here in LA, I'm fortunate to live in an area where taking the surface streets is faster than the freeway, especially in the morning during rush hour.
