Seat Screw

Hi all. I've been the owner of a XG750 for almost years. In that time I had to replace a Missing Seat Screw Twice. Since I installed the Alarm with a Starter Kill, Thought I should replace the screw with a Non Standard Screw. What I ended up doing is, Going to Tractor Supply. Purchased a small bag of Stainless Steel 1/4x20 Allen Screws, SS Lock Washers, And SS Flat Washers. Changed the screw out. Now instead of it being a #3 Philips, Its now a 3/16 Allen. Which shouldn't be a problem for the shop when they work on it. As the bigger HD's use that size on some of their fasteners. Bad thing is, If I need to get under the seat, I don't have the correct size in my tool kit. Its a Metric Cruz Tools kit. No big deal, I'll go to the local HD and buy something. I'll see if I can post a picture later.

I bought a stainless steel allen screw at Fastenal and always carry the necessary allen wrenches in my bag, just in case something works loose on a ride.

Was having trouble finding a 3/16" Allen in 1/4" Drive. What I did was buy an Allen key. And a 6 point socket. Cut the key to the length I needed. Used my angle grind with a Flap Disc. Polished the end of the socket. And spot welded the key in the socket. Used the lap disc to polish the sharp edges off. Now I have a socket that fits the ratchet in my tool kit.
