Purchased-Universal 7/8" Brake and Clutch Lever Set

One nice thing with having 7/8" bars is it opens up the possibility of using other parts other than super expensive Harley only items. Case in point-universal 7/8" clutch and brake levers. Black and grey, just like my SR. No one makes replacement CNC'd replacement adjustable levers for the SR as they have different levers than the Street. These would work on all Streets I believe. $45 off eBay. They are the only set I could find that didn't have the mirror perches cast into the housing. Instead, they come with a second set of bar clamps with them cast in. I'll post some pics once I get them installed.

Why are you replacing the stocks? Are they adjustable reach or something?

Why did I change them? I like to personalize my bikes, they were nicely priced, lighter than the OEM levers and they go with the theme of the bike. I like the look of the hovering fluid reservoir as well. More "sporty" in my eye. Yes, they are adjustable-hence the numbers and adjustment levers. They also, after a very quick ride, made the front brakes feel better. My bikes are toys. I like to tinker and make them my own.

Needed to do some wiring changes to get the clutch switch to hook up. No biggie. You will loose the gear indicator.

Right? For less than $50 I had to try 'em.

There are a few photos above. I show them both off the bike and installed.

I purchased them off eBay. This is another seller different from the one I purchased them from out of California. The company I bought them from is sold out. This is the same set...... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-7...BZ6wd~&vxp=mtr

Removed the aftermarket lever kit today for a couple reasons. Got a CEL (P0704-Clutch Switch Input Circuit Malfunction). I guess the bike didn't like the switch in the new levers. I did loose the gear indicator once I installed them. Foreshadowing it seems. The second reason was the front brakes developed an uncomfortable off/on feeling with a very small area of modulation. No matter how many times I bled the lines it was still there.

I suppose you get what you pay for Scooter. At $50 for the pair, that's fabulous Chinese engineering at it's best (or worst depending how you look at it!).

If the reservoir capacity and bore were the same as OEM I can't think of anything else that would have caused the problems you were experiencing other than sloppy engineering. Your hardly going to distort the discs by changing the brake lever assembly for instance.

Looks like you're going to have to reach deeper into your pockets for decent replacements mate
