Help - stripped sump plug

So I undid the drain plug and found the nice boys at HD have overtightened it and the thread is stripped. Does anyone know what thread size the drain plug sump hole is so that I can order the next size up and retap the thread and get a bigger bolt?

Do you mean the oil drain plug or are you taking about a different plug? Do not tap it . Use a proper coil or Time-cert . time cert number option but a bit more to it than a coil.

If it is not stripped to bad maybe you can use some teflon tape around the drain plug.
