Bro , please check these out when you get your hand on the scoot -
In the display bike at kolkata , there was a clanking sound(like hammer hitting metal - a single note) comming from the engine every 5-10 secs. It was very unhealthy in nature and the dealer excused it as display bike issues. Please check if the test ride bike makes such a sound or not , for reference you can listen to my exhaust note vid and in the last 15 sec , one can hear the sound .
Also check if bike can be started in gear with clutch depressed(make sure side stand is retracted) .
**** no test rides in bangalore ,my hands are itching after listening to the ,"Mad Quick" comment ...
I called up dealer ,they said test rides from April 1st week ,it's not fair
hyderabad got their test ride bike , performance and handling as per one feedback are very good in traffic. Expected delivery for booking now is september (6 months !!! ).
Checked with Bangalore showroom as mentioned above its avilable from April 1st week only as they didnt get their test ride bike. But as per them delivery should start by May 1st or 2nd week
Im from hyderabad and just got done with the test ride of harley street 750, the performance is very good but the sound is not great. This is the quickest harley after the v rod. 0 to 100 is very quick less than 4 seconds. The ride is very comfortable n handling is very good .The sound is similar to a v rod but less intensity.
Awesome Ananth, atleast now you got the feel!!! 0 to 100 in less than 4sec brilliant. "sound is not great" how much u can rate... do you managed to get any recording note?
The sound is not like any other harley , kind of comparable to a v-rod but not as 'heavy'. Closer to a triumph bonneville. It is not unpleasant though , infact I liked it .
Someone expects a liquid cooled overhead cam 60 degree V-twin to sound like an old air cooled pushrod 45 degree V-twin? Really? And then express disappointment when it doesn't? Come on folks.
It's no wheezer and it is a real Harley. Yes, the 60 degree sounds slightly different than a 45 degree v-twin but when I heard the sound from the Harley video I was very pleased. It's a healthy v-twin sound.
Harleys really need and respond well to a good set of after market pipes.
And yes they will all sound a bit different depending on your pipes and cams. My XR1200X with stock cam & Vance & Hines ss widow pipes sounds much different than the 103 motor in my Road Glide with 255 cams & Screaming Eagle slip ons. As-well my 103 motor in my Wide Glide with a high lift 259 cams and D&D Fat Cat two in to one full head back exhaust.
Don't forget to have it Dyno tuned by a good shop after your new exhaust pipes.
How well developed do you think an exhaust is going to be if it is rushed to market mere months after the first bikes are made available to customers? Do you think it will be well tested or just something thrown together to get you to spend your money? Just asking .........
Akrapovic took over a year to develop their exhaust system for the V-Rod.
