I nearly bought a new Blue 2016 Street 750 earlier this year. When I started watching you tube videos to be come familiar with the new bike. I guess I was surprised to learn they are being made in India. A Harley friend seems to think that these bikes are also produced in Milwaukee for the US market.
Does anyone here have first hand knowledge if this is true. I knew live in a global economy and almost every thing is built somewhere else these days.
The Urban cruiser fits the bill for 90 percent of my riding. At least until I retire when I would like to take a couple of cross country road trips.
your friend is correct, Street Motorcycles sold in North America are assembled in Kansas City. the rest of the world they are built in India. you can decode the VIN to verify other info as well: Harley-Davidson VIN Numbers Explained
having also rode a 2008 V-Rod in NYC, the Street750 does work quite well on lousier traffic and roads of the Philippines. the stock suspension can handle speed bumps and most potholes without having to stand up on the pegs. 2015 the brakes aren't so great in panic stops, very easy to lock up and skid from above 45km/h (my 2008 v-rod has ABS, never skidded on dry surface when panic braking)
