Congrats!

I didn't get any motorcycle license until I was 20 yrs old even though i'd been riding since age 7.

In texas, you would take a written test, then a short driving test, but if you had taken an approved riders course then you didn't have to take the driving test. I guess it's all the same now.

Not to be recommending this. I was 30 when I got my Permit. Rode on the permit by myself. Until it was time to take the Road Test. Then the dealership that sold me the Nighthawk 250 had their Lot Man go with me as the Licensed Rider I was Required to be with. I never had any problems while on the Permit. However, IF I had crashed (my Fault or others) I would have been ticketed for Operating without a License. I taught myself to Ride. 21000 Miles(9 Years) later and one accident. Front wheel locked up on my Majesty. Held the Skid for about 12 Feet. Strange thing is, Doesn't show up on my Driving Record. And it was the NJ State Police that responded.

Congratulations!!

Tucsonmax - Some of my dad's friends did the same thing with airplanes in the 1940's and 1950's. They were all farm boys flying out of their own grass strips. One of them did have a license so he would ferry planes into real airports for the others.
