50 Years In The Saddle

As my 67th birthday approaches two of my few remaining and undamanged brain cells connected and I remembered that it was in March of 1966 when I purchased my first motorcycle. I don't have a photo of mine but it was like the 1964 Yamaha Trailmaster in the attachment. It was an awesome little motorcycle for someone that wouldn't graduate high school until later that year. I didn't own it long, replacing it a about a year with a Honda 175 that was freeway legal (although I never rode it on the freeway).

I guess when you get old you remember all of the bad habits of your youth and riding motorcycles has remained a never ending bad habit for me.

Stonefree we share the same path. At the beginning of 1966 I got a second hand Suzuki 50cc as my first bike. In two months time I will join you in a 67th birthday also riding a Street 750 after celebrating 50 years in the saddle. Just a pity we don't both live on the same side of the equator!

Christ on a bike there is a lot of "old timers" on moto's lol; that is AWESOME!

Congrats to you Stone, and to ALL the other "older" riders out there, that have been riding and living the life for as long as you have. It truly is an inspiration to all of us younger riders. I can only pray that when I am 60 and 70, **** even 50 for that matter, I have the requisite physcological, physical and mental prowess to be able to be out and about raising **** on 2 wheels.

Truly spectacular gentleman (and ladies); my hat is off to you all.

Nothing but continued safe riding and a long and prosperous future to you all.

Best,

USVet

The first step is always the purchase of your first motorcycle and the next steps are to always own and ride motorcycles (safely). If you do that then eventually you end up being an old rider still riding motorcycles.

My first bike was a Honda CM200t Twinstar in 1984. I rode the **** out of that thing up down the coast of California. Rode it to San Jose a couple of times from LA. Used to ride it to Pt Mugu twice a week when Iw as in the Navy. Loved that bike.
