A video clip of chaotic Indian Traffic!

Take a good look a this clip and let me know how many horses are needed to drive around in India according to your opinion.

I think we Indian drivers and Pedestrians deserve nothing less than a Gallantry Award to deal with such conditions on daily basis!

You talk about rules of the road, we don't even have to pass a driving test to get our driving licences most of the times. We learn driving on road by Trial & Error Method !

I am personally interested in @bbally and @Desert Tortoise, views about the clip. Let's see what veterans have to say.

Seems like a scooter might be the best thing to get around in India. Its not like you are going to get your motorcycle to a very high speed with all those people on the road (not to mention the cows that I've seen in other videos.)

So what are the fatality rates from traffic? That is what I woudl be interested in...

Other than that its insanity. I guess after a while you get use to being inches away from the next vehicle or bike. What surprises me most is how in the world is there no traffic lights?

Garage
The video reminds me of two things:
1- Why I won't ever live in a city. I will take country life, thank you.
2- How much I hate horns, and people that constantly blow them.
Putting up with that everyday would most definitely put me in road-rage mode.

Not anything out of ordinary tbh (though I am not familiar with the statistics here and abroad ) but if we are talking about smaller crashes like mere scratches or some road-rash , those are more common.

One gets used to it though I personally don't enjoy driving in such condition and would rather take public transport than ride a motorcycle like that(a bike is primarily a leisure ride for me with occasional good weather commute) . If one were to put me in the 60-80 mile per hour freeways of the united states , I will be out of my depth as well . I have seen some go-pro vids of the highways at your country and it looks like one mistake by someone and a dozen will crash into him in one second !!!

BTW i have not seen the vid but in general we have traffic light though at night , they make it free( all yellow ) due to less traffic .
