Man loves Harley Davidson so much he gets buried astride one

This is one of the more strange Harley Davidson stories that I have run into over the years. Billy Standley loved Harley Davidson so much that he made his last wish to be buried atop his 1967 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide ina special plexiglass casket he devised himself.

The plan apparently was put in place when Billy was just 19 years old. He had to specially reserve the proper burial slot in Fairview Cemetary next to his wife and everything. Standley died at the age of 82.

Awesome, or terrible?

neither. Its whatever. His wish, his funeral. Not like it matters, does a dead man know he's been buried?

How did they get his body to remain rigid enough to stand up? o.0

I guess its cool... But not like anyone can see his body. But like said above.. His death, his life, his funeral. Whatever makes them happy.

This isn't something I would do, going to resort to a traditional burial but what this guy did was awesome. He loved HD's and riding which this clearly shows and took it to another level, cool to see this.

This is not the first time I have seen this. its becoming more common these days. I guess guys just love their 2 wheels that much to take it with them.

I guess they injected some kind of fluid in to their body to make them stay in position.

Embalming I guess. Must have been an interesting day at the morgue for those who were working on this guy's body. Can't say I love Harley enough to be buried with it. I'd like to think something means more to me than a brand when I die. I'd far rather emphasize the people I've met than the things that I owned.

Garage
Guess he didn't want his bike going to just anybody.
When I take a dirt nap, I'll leave my bikes to my son to get some enjoyment out of.
Hate to see a good bike go to waste.
