I looked at the price and I GOT SICK..WOW
Ok someone school me. What is the purpose of a rear view camera? Wouldnt it be best to take picture from front view? This is a serious question because I truly dont know but want to.

$1,400 is a lot for a helmet. I am more interested to just try it out at a demo booth instead of actually buying one and wearing it to ride. More of a novelty at this point IMO.

The price seems fair considering all the features. I mean lets be real, it has a HUD and voice controls for taking phone calls. etc.
I wouldn't want to have to look around to change lanes, it seems safer to keep looking forward and taking a quick glane to the bottom right of your HUD.

it is neat, I grant you that, I got sick because I know me, I am a gadget person so I will need to talk myself off the ledge on this one. Maybe I can get a bunch of my friends to donate towards it as a birthday present for me. ummmm

That wont work because they are not going to be available until May 2015...my birthday is 28 April, which is perfect timing.

My understanding is that the rear facing camera records on a 60 second loop. In case of accident, it stops recording. Could have used this when I got rear ended last week.

I really dont know if I can really justify spending that much on a helmet.

It's not really the helmet you're spending the money one, it's the new tech. The first run will be super expensive, within a few years, they'll license the technology out and you'll see it on everything else. The first wave of adopters will finance the growth, prices will drop, and within 3-5 years we'll all be wondering how the **** we ever go along without this kind of thing in the first place.

Kind of like how GPS units from 10 years ago were $1000+, and a similarly equipped current model is an order of magnitude less expensive.
