Street 750 stage 1 upgrade.

Hello Folks

I am planning for an SE slip on Exhaust upgrade.

I have few queries.

1) I am going for the SE slip on for perfoamnce & sound.

2) Do i need to go in for a upgradfe of Air filter. (if Yes which gives best perfoamnce)

3) Do i need to to go for Stage 1 upgrade of ecu ? If yes what are the implications on perfoamnce?

Regards...Amit Shah

IMO, I would go with the firebrand loose cannon slip on muffler, it is the best value and with the optional db killer baffle the sound is awesome!

as far as adding a free'r flowing air filter, I would go with the vance and hines naked air filter kit, another member on this site highly recommended it over the SE kit, for superior performance.

and yes on the remapping of the fuel management, so I would recommend the vance and hines fp3, over the SE programmer.

read up on the ability's or features of each and you'll see why.

all the above is the best value, user friendly and performance as of today IMO

SE slip-on and the SE Air Cleaner.......you can upgrade the ECM by getting Harley to do it, or get an aftermarket tuner, like the PowerVision or the Vance & Hines FP3

I've seen the above combo in action, and sounds awesome....you will find Vance and Hines fans, Firebrand fans and other brands too....like Two Bros...each has there own fan clubs

Personally I prefer Harley kit....but thats just me

Give it a day or 2 and I will be putting my SE Stage 1 kit on and will put up a video.....

UPDATED:

Hope this provides some idea of what the Screaming Eagle sounds like....makes it far more audible and ....yes, it sounds like a HARLEY!!!!

Not a performance upgrade...it's 225kg + RIDER...but runs nice, changes gears better....smooth riding...for me it's all about being heard for safety

Until you put a stage 1 type air filter on a download is not required when putting on a slip on muffler

I put a speed merchant slip on, on my Street 750...took my bike in to the dealership for my recall repair....when I went to pick it up, the mechanic and service mgr both asked me where I got it and how did you hear about it?....they had never heard of speed merchant....they told me it was the best sounding slip on they have ever heard.

I just asked my dealer service dept. And was told the SE Muffler might need a Stage 1 ECU download. I didn't mention the K&N AF I have. The ECU reprogram would cost $200. Definitely holding off on that.

if you are running a free'r flowing air filter, then add an aftermarket slipon, I would sure get it remapped it if was me.

other wise it will likely run way too lean....i..e... bad decal popping....engine runs too hot....definitely void your warranty if the engine burns valves or pistons....IMO
