Speed merchant vs loose cannon!!

Hi guys I'm new to the forums and would like input from the community in help deciding my slip on, I have narrowed it down to speed merchant or loose cannon, love the deep throaty sound, I know there's a dB killer for the loose cannon which is a nice option, is there one for the speed merchant available? For those with these exhausts, what do you like and not like about your exhaust, any input is appreciated thanks!

I'm not sure if there is an option for a dB killer for the Speed Merchant....but John and Lee over at Firebrand are really cool and can answer any questions you have about their products....my wife loved the Grand Prix on hers.....FB is on here...shoot them a PM or post in their forum on here.....can't hurt...and welcome to the forum!!!!!

Current rides:

2016 Softail Slim S Olive Gold Denim

2016 Street 750 Vivid Black

1998 Honda Aero Black/Silver

Might want to check out Chappell Customs also. At tuffside.com I was originally going to get the speed merchant but went with the Chappell Customs shorty instead and love it.

I am on my 3rd muffler. 1st was the OEM. 2nd was the Night Stick. The 3rd and current winner (by a large margin) is the Speed Merchant. This thing is amazing! Sounds like an aggressive member of the Sportster line, for real! FYI, I do recommend that you also consider some kind of K&N intake setup and have the HD Stage-1 re-flash done. These bikes are set up too lean to begin with. I think a K&N bug sucker and the SM slip on will run even leaner and too hot. Get the re-flash.

I agree on the Chappell customs, I have the regular length not the shorty and I couldn't be happier with it! It's also priced between the loose cannon and the speed merchant.

Critter is the only one I know of who has tried more than one aftermarket. Most posters will tell you they are very happy with the aftermarket they selected, regardless of which brand it is. It seems just about every aftermarket exhaust is a winner in the eyes of the one who chose it. That's a feel good thing right there!

I've been thinking about this one. I'd like a loud exhaust but not obnoxious. How is the volume on it?

Volume is real nice, not overly loud. It's nice to actually hear the bike at highway speeds. It makes the entire riding experience a lot more enjoyable when you can hear your RPMs and tell what the bike is doing. I'd recommend the Chappell customs slip on to anyone. Not to mention I love the look of it!

Not that this helps any but the Two Brothers Racing slip on is what I have a little high priced but definitely a unique sound.
Has a low note to it and during engine braking it sounds like a beast and with the throttle cranked and the rpm's are about 4000+
it sounds like a wailing banshee well that's the best I can describe it. Different that's for sure and loud but not too much think I got
90-99 dB's when I measured it.
