Question Slip-on

Hey all...I just ordered a Firebrand Loose Cannon slip-on for my XG750. I was just wondering, and as I don't know much about these things it may be stupid, but my Street has a little over 90 miles on it. Does my bike need more miles before I go ahead and install it? I just need my Harley to sound more like a HD should!

If you change it now, The Old one would be easier to remove. I don't see why it would cause a problem. If you do decide to change the Air Filter to a K&N or a V&H Intake kit, You would need a Reprogram of the computer. Either using a V&H FP3, Power Commander, DynoVision units.

I would recommend checking the bolts and Clamps after running. Once it goes through a few Hot/Cold cycles. To make sure they don't come loose.

Just made the change to the Vance & Hines Comp on my Street 750 for the same reason. Ended up also putting on a KN filter and going with the FP3, lots of buck$$ but sounds and runs great!

My Loose Cannon was just delivered! Will try to install tomorrow and then go for the Stage 1 download next weekend. Exciting times! I need to ask for a raise!

I installed the new Loose Cannon slip on yesterday, sound awesome! Lots of decel popping though. Would it be ok if I installed a K&N filter and then drive like 28 mls to the dealer to have it remapped?

I watched my dealer do a 110 to 117ci Upgrade. The Mechanic told the owner to put 500 miles on it. To "Break it in" before he Dyno Tuned it for him. I would check with your dealer. 28 Miles? Shouldn't hurt the engine, Just don't go "Showing off". Its running Lean now. What Octane gas are you running?? I found Sunoco 93 runs good in mine. Which has some more Mod's. V&H VO2 Intake and Fire Brand Grand Prix so. But I am running a V&H FP3. Using one of their Maps. V&H SO with Baffle. And High Velocity Intake.

I am taking the bike in on Sat to get reprogrammed and install K&N filter...from what Ive read, it's better than the SE Performance filter, I got it for $30 cheaper than the SE too! Thx for all the good advice!

just be cautious of those torque specs i got a firebrand grand prix on mine , got a brand new dial torque wrench installed the thing, and according to their specs and the service manual specs they seemed a little high , i could feel the one mounting bolt from the bracket to the muffler starting to strip using the numbers they gave me plus side is sounds a **** of a more like a harley davidson than it used to least now i can hear and feel when its time to up/downshift

The Manual calls for 39-42 Ft Lbs. I used an old Craftsman Digitorque on mine. I didn't have a problem. Think I set it for 40. I even torqued the Mounting nuts. 19-22 Ft Lbs.
