Help/Advice Painting Luggage Rack

I'm thinking about painting the inner rails of my new HD 2-up luggage rack (pictured) with red to match the stitching on my seat (pictured). I don't really know where to begin for this. Can anyone point me to good youtube vids or let me know where to start?

1-Should I sand off and prime the bars I want to repaint?
2-What is the kind of spray paint I'm looking for, any recommendations there?

THANKS!

(I previously posted this in the wrong thread. Still getting used to the boards as a noob!)

I second the pinstripe idea. That would really pull it together.

The rack attaches with hardware that replaces Fender Bolts. I used longer bolts from hardware store and the hardware for attachment of the rack fit between the bags and fenders.

How did those Saree bars turn out? I want a pair, and I would think that on your bags and luggage rack it'd be too much in the way.... They are decently priced too at 30 ish a piece I think... I have the front license plate mounted on my 750... I am going to put a mini plate there or get one custom made...

The Saree guards work well. I did cut them off at the bottom, as they extended below the saddlebags more than I wanted. I covered the open ends with Plasti Dip. Below is my previous thread.

I liked using the saree guard this way as the bracket fit so well under the fender cover #4 in the right picture from parts manual.

Now I saw the caliper placement, I know the 2016s are clocked forward compared to the 2015s and before, so the Saree guards also changed depending on the year I see.... ****... I'll have to order mine for a 2015 even though I have a 2016 due to the big brake upgrade I did...
