mine is still under warranty, and usually its either the mileage clock up or duration. in my case is duration will come first which from my trend, it would be once a year oil change. so every 6 months, be it engine oil clean or not, I will change the oil myself, AMSOIL V Twin, and the next 6 months by authorised dealer (previous owner took the package which include free oil and filter change till 2020).

I rode just over 6K miles each of the last couple of years. That means at least a couple of oil changes per year. Now that I've got a second bike and the winter weather being worse than last year that may change.

The Street 750 is on a deal that requires me to do the scheduled maintenance at the dealership in return for free tires for life. I may do an extra oil change myself in the spring. My nephew and his girl friend are going to be riding it whenever they get around to getting their endorsements, so getting it back to the dealer may become a headache. I haven't tried to get the oil filter for this bike anywhere, but I would guess that getting it from an auto parts store would be cheaper than at my local chapel.

The Sportster I bought in August has no such limitations. I'm planning on doing the oil changes and the "interim" 5K maintenance myself. The oil filters for the other Harleys are available just about anywhere as is the 20W50 oil.

If you need, I still have some K&N 303 filters. In black. Same as the 204. Just a little longer. More Capacity.

The 1200 can use a Standard Auto filter. I run the Bosch Premium 3330 on mine. Have a friend who uses Puro 10241.
