A great ride to Gruene Texas

I just took a 120 mile round trip ride on my Street 750 with 3 friends to Gruene Harley Davidson. It was a very nice ride down some winding roads in the Texas Hill Country. I ordered a luggage rack, mirror extensions, oil filter, O ring, Harley oil, and shop manual. The shop manual was not there but the parts guy, Joey, said he would mail it to me when it arrives next week to save me a trip. I picked up my license plate also.

Here is the best part, the weekend I bought the bike they had an incentive, a rain suit and boots. I came in to get fitted and bring the loot home.
Men's Hi-Vis Rain Suit | Stay Dry | Official Harley-Davidson Online Store $185
Men's Markus Performance Boots | Boots | Official Harley-Davidson Online Store $154
Gruene Harley Davidson is the Best.

The ride was great and we came back to my house for some home brew. A very good day. Tell us some good stuff about your first rides.

Have a Peachy Day.

Hey @PatLav

It would be awesome if you could post some pictures up of your trip. Have you had a chance to see if your rain gear actually keeps you dry in wet weather yet?

I had a gopro with me but the mount I had was too bouncy. I ordered a chest harness and will take it out next time. It never rains in Texas

The Three Sisters (Ranch Roads 337, 335 & 336) in Texas Hill Country is one of the best rides in North America.

Planning to take the Three Sisters ride this winter. There are youtube videos of the ride posted, looks like fun.

A road sign on Vanderpool to Leakey road (RR337) reads (looking at the picture I took on my iPhone):

Caution
Next 12 Miles
Since Jan 2006
11 Killed
In Motorocyle
Related Crashes
Stay Alert
Save a Life

I saw maybe six signs like this on the Three Sisters. Loads of fun but you really do need to be careful on some of the hairpin turns.

Here's a short (and slower) ride along Lime Creek Rd in Cedar Park (Anderson Mill) with even more more extreme twisties: https://goo.gl/maps/coqMH.

Looks like a nice route. Those signs are there for a reason right? rider beware.

When do you guys plan on doing a ride there?

Yup.

BTW, 335 and 336 were empty -- didn't see a single car/bike -- on a Sunday morning in late June when I rode it. Me, my bike, the road, the hills, the curves and beautiful scenery around. Perfect.

I might go again later this month but my next ride is through the Ozarks: https://goo.gl/maps/taFAy this weekend.
