I won a Street 500 in a $10 raffle (bought 7 tickets) last month!!! :) Decided I'd better upgrade to the 750 and just picked it up this past Saturday. I've got just over 100 miles on her (Black Betty) and I'm in love!

I'm told I have the 3rd one in West Michigan (possibly all of Michigan; but, I'm not sure).

I'm looking forward to being a member here and not only sharing as much as I can about my experience, but learning a lot as well.

Congratulations on your big win! Wish I could win a Street 500. Did you sell back the 500 to get the 750, or now do you own both?

so are you saying women think bigger is better ;)

welcome aboard, congrats on the "purchase" LOL, I'm guessing you just split the difference at the HD dealer, so $70 for the tickets and the $700 difference... Jeez you'd be hard pressed to find a used bike for that kind of coin ;):D

CONGRATULATIONS MY FRIEND!!
I myself live in NW Indiana.
Find the thread on this forum titled "A Salty Street", and see what my son and I are
doing with an XG500.

Plus, you might try.

Again, CONGRATULATIONS!
The XG750 has the potential of putting out 80-100HP with some engine work done.

Congratulations!!!

You've got some great riding in Michigan and putting on miles this summer should be a pleasure.

You mention this is your first H-D. Have you owned other brands and if so what other motorcycles have you owned in the past?

I'm sure you will receive a lot of attention when you stop along the road as I've found people to be very interested in the new Street 750 when I make stops on my local travels. Most comments are positive although others also find things they don't like often that match my own preferences. For example I don't like the 2-1 exhaust set-up (others might) and a couple of people have commented on that.

Overall though it's been very well received not just by the "Average Joe" but also by the "Pushrod V-twin" Harley owners as well. This is quite different from when the V-Rod was introduced a decade ago.

I never actually took ownership of the 500. I told the dealership right away that I wanted to upgrade to the 750, so actually I never saw the 500 that I 'won'. And yes, I simply paid the difference and sales tax... :)

Thanks everyone, for all the 'welcome's and well wishes...

StoneFree - I started with a Yamaha 400 Special when I was around 19, then bumped it up to a Yamaha 850 Special about a year later. I rode for about 4 years before having kids caused me to hang it up for a while... hard to believe it's been over 25 years.

@Rexico21 If you dont mind me asking how much difference and tax did you end up paying to upgrade to the 750?

Truth be told, the dealership had sold the bike for the raffle below retail because it was a fund-raising event. So I of course, had to make up that difference, plus the $700 difference in retail price. So - ultimately, out the door - tax included, just under $2,200.

you look pretty tall. I am only 5'5" and everyone is telling me that this is a little bike. Im on the mid part of 40 and this will be my first street bike. Any pointers or advise?

2,220 + 70 is not a bad price for a brand new bike :D

With the 500 you got a decent amount of chicks. So with the 750 you should round up a few more gals. Well except for the guy in the fidora in the back.

Let us know when you get it

Yea, Keep the girls, ditch the guy in the hat, and get rid of the bike!:p

It is only 18mm smaller than a Sportster, I would not call that little unless you're comparing that to a touring cruiser then it's little.

I do have one question: You have high top H-D riding shoes on and this is your first bike, sounds like you knew you were going to win!
I STILL don't see a bike in that picture !
