If you guys are planning to spend just under $10,000 for a biek other than a HD Street 500 or 700 the Harley Davidson Iron 883 wouldn't be bad bike to throw up for consideration.

This is another bike I am looking in to right now if I run out of patience.

what do you guys think?

shouldn't be too hard to alter the neck angle, One of my cousins is a deep sea welder with a background in motocross racing, I'm going to give him a call and see what he thinks about altering the neck angle. He should be able to fab it up for me no issue....

yea I hear you, but theres really not much to it besides lopping off the headstock and welding it in at a new angle...
That's true, but he might even suggest going for a different bike, making a really good suggestion in the process. I'm new to harley, the street 500 or street 750 will be my first harley ever. So someone like myself would find that valuable as i'm still open to option. I'll even save up a bit more to get the ideal bike.

Any of the Sportys is a good choice.
I like more rake. Yes the steering will be heavy at slow speeds with more rake. I had a 91 Sporty with an AME 14*, 10" over "chopper" kit once (total of 43* rake). The steering was heavy up to about 15 mph. It handled very well, but you couldn't turn nearly as sharp. The bike rode better too, since it had a longer wheelbase.
I would never go with that much rake again, but somewhere in the 36* range is what I like. My "C" Sporty is 30* or 30.5*, but I don't plan to change it any time soon.
