Hello,

We bought an 2017 HD Street 750 to my wife this year. It is an Indian make HD XG750. Everything is stock. Bike is at 500 miles right now. On first gear at slow speed bike leaped forward twice. Bike was not on low fuel. I think tank is at least half full. I searched the forums and as I understand there was the leap problem with 2015 models and some of them were recalled. It seems like a similar issue.

As I said this happened twice. Once while I was riding, once my wife was riding. I don't know it is relevant but in both cases it happened at the uphill 90 degree left turn at the end of our street. First one happened when bike is at 30 miles and the second time at 500 miles. First I suspected the throttle getting stuck but it operates normally when I turn the handlebars to both ends.

So, is something similar happened to you at 2017 HD XG750? I will take it to the HD Dealer in my country (Turkey). What should I ask them to look at?

Thank you for you help

I would ask them to check the two throttle cables for correct adjustment when the bars are turned full left and right. From what you describe the "leap" is not the same as others experienced on their 2015 models.

If the two throttle cables are not correctly adjusted, when turning hard to one side it can cause one cable to tighten and open the throttle slide resulting in a leap forward.

sub'bed to find out.

we just bought a 2015....
Hi,

There is a thread for 2015 bikes, Lag and Leap Issue. From that thread as I understand Harley had a recall for some 2015 bikes regarding fuel pump issues. You might want to ask your dealer or look up from Harley Davidson's website whether your bike has a recall or not.

First thing i did was checking throttle cables, throttle snaps back to its place when fully turned in both ends. It is an intermittent issue, so might be specific to our bike. We took it first 1000 miles service, told them our problems and they gave a clean bill of health. I will keep an eye and see if same thing happens.
