Well my wife is tired of the run around from the dealer and cancelled her order for a 750. Even the salesperson understood why the cancellation and didn't understand why not sooner. She will try another dealer but may buy a different bike altogether.

Like bbally said at least she didnt give up riding. Interested to see what you guys end up with. Does she have anything else in mind?

Bummer, the dealer could have avoided this by simply being honest and up front.
If she's interested in a 500 my dealer has one and has shipped Harleys all over the US.

This seems to be a problem with Harley. I asked for a Superlow and was told I will get it next year, ditto for Iron 883 --- the Street Bob was available in 3 months and a Street 750 in 2 months. Its not that they sell 1000s of bikes in India, yet, these waiting times. I think HD is missing a trick by not stocking up bikes enough in the dealerships.
Yup, seeing how they want to expand even more, this is likely just part of the learning curve for them, maybe this wouldn't be near as likely to happen in the future.

I'd say 9 out of 10 dealers give false promises. When you do find that one just hope they stick around long enough.

It sucks that has to be the case, i've learned that when it comes to owning a bike, car, etc, it helps to know people, at least then your chances of a better experience is greatly increased.
Thanks to all the have responded. I was able to talk her into looking at another dealer mush further away and ask them to find her one. The part that drove her nuts was she asked to buy the one they had and said yes. When I asked for the serial number for insurance they started their litany of excuses. I put down 1/2 the cost of the bike and options so my money was tied up. I will see what happens.

15 ? Yeah right. I'm gonna bet that doesn't happen anytime soon,at least not all 15 at one time. The dealer here in Tennessee says he has no idea and no date has been implied by Harley as to anymore shipments any time soon. He had expected a shipment around the first week of August but that didn't happen.
