I have a problem with my 2016 XG 750 when it goes up to around 3rd or fourth gear and i let go of throttle, the check engine light comes on and would have to downshift, it just wont have no power even if i put a little bit of throttle to it. Is this a intake issue? I cleaned the filters and it seems ok as far as the wear and tear of it. It still is on stock, I do have an upgrade but is waiting for some funds so i can get the fuelpoack. The only mods I have is the V and H exhaust. So where to look for first???

We've had a couple of threads from people with bikes that seem to run fine up to about 40 mph and then the check engine light comes on and they have no pep. I think in both cases it was determined that the bike had one cylinder not firing. I'd start checking that plug wires are connected and in good condition. Then pull each plug in turn and check that it sparks and compare the condition to any of a number of online charts showing how to diagnose problems by plug condition.
