Hi Guys,

I have a 2015 street 500.
Clutch is slipping in most gears around 3000rpm.
Anyone had this issue and knows how to fix it or how much it would cost.

Hello Stevobrah,

I have a 16 xg500. Got it in the fall of 16. In the spring of 17 my clutch started slipping. I took it into the moco and they (adjusted/tighten) the clutch. No problems since. Good luck.
Appreciate it, I have it booked in for after new year.

Don't really want to start playing around with it.

Get a service manual. Replace the bolt holding the counter shaft sprocket. It's a known weakness.
Open the clutch. Your manual will give you the correct service length of the springs. Measure them. It will also give you the correct service thickness of the clutch plates. Measure them.
Also, sometimes the bonded plates get glazed. They just don't have adhesion. They will need to be replaced, even if they're in spec. Glazing can come from heat. Heat can come from heating the clutch from spinning the motor when the plates have not bedded down enough. Therefore, too much spinning, equals too much heat.
