Not 100 % sure what happened but yesterday I was out working on adding some miles to my break-in, currently I'm still under 50 miles and when I pulled into this parking lot to turn around , the engine just died. The thing I'm not sure about is if I may have let my revs drop to low while in the friction zone, I think i was in second with the clutch out about half from full. At first I thought I may have bumped the kill switch or something but when I pulled into or coasted into a space, I looked down and it was in the on position. I then thought maybe I was low on gas so I opened up the cap and looked in the tank and I was good. Anyway, I pulled in the clutch , put her in Neutral and hit the start button and all was good for the ride home. All of this happened at around my first 35 miles of break-in. Going out today to add some more miles and if it happens again, I'm calling the dealer to pick her up and go through it all. It may have just been my position on the clutch while being in to low a gear selection but it didn't feel like I let it lug. Just curious if anyone else has had this dying issue under 50 miles.

I've had my 2015 750 do that to me one time. Coming up to a stoplight downshifting from 3rd to 2nd and the bike just quit running no lugging of the engine or anything odd. Pulled clutch pressed the starter and it fired right back up...continued on my ride and have never had it happen again. Have over 1000miles on it since without another incident. I wouldn't be too concerned about it unless it happens frequently.

My 15 did stall when I started it. Weird thing is, I changed the spark plug wires to Sumax 8mm, Has never happened again. Not while riding like you described.

Let me know if you find anything out about it. I'm close the the 1000 mile mark on my 2016 and it seems to almost stall when down shifting from 3rd to 2nd. Haven't had it actually stall but it sounds like it is close. I don't have this issue with any other gears.

As others have noted having it happen once can be attributed to mischief by the motorcycle gods but if it repeats then it probably an electrical or fuel problem. I wouldn't be concerned at this point and to tell you the truth I've sometimes killed an engine by accident and that was rider error. Sometimes just forcing the engine into a very low rpm range without being aware of it will kill the engine. Only become concerned if it happens repeatedly.
