Front Fork Rubber Dust Boots

I just picked up a new Street which is being delivered to me today. :) Can the dust boots be removed if desired? I prefer the exposed fork look.

Yes the fork gators can come off the bike.
Thanks for the info. The salesman also said they were just there for aesthetic value, but thought I'd double check.

The plastic headlight surround is a goner too. :) Looks a little too "euro".

is it safer to have the Dust boots on ?
I guess it depends on where you live. If I was riding a lot of dusty country dirt roads I'd leave it on. I'm driving this around Austin. We don't have dirt here. Just concrete and lots of pollen.

Fork Gators are not a safety item.

That said them would prevent dirt from rubbing against the seals. But the way I ride it will need seals eventually anyway.>:D

I'll see if these pics work... Both changes made. Looks very good.

That looks awesome! I personally like the faring around the headlight, but those rubber boots need to go. As soon as I get mine back from the shop, they're coming off.

They can and it probably doesn't create any problems. Over a zillion miles it might matter but not so much for us because we don't ride in the dirt typically. Biggest concern is that it would probably void the warranty on the forks if you ever get a leak. Harley can be weird about warranty issues if there's any modification.

Looks better without the boots for sure, but I don't want to cut them off and I don't feel like sliding them out of the trees either.

Bike looks rad! I got my Street back in December and ever time I looked at the boots I cringed a little. Mine are definitely coming off.

I recently got the NRC fender eliminator kit to get rid of the factor taillights and directionals. They look a little scooter-ish for me. Once I install I'll post some pics.

Only reason I haven't taken them off yet…..and if we trade it in, I want it to be all there…..wife's already wanting a new bike now…..a Lowrider….
