My name is Rob, just picked up my Street 500 last Friday from Monterey HD in Salinas, CA - the first one to hit the dealership, actually!

I had taken the HD Riding Academy class last month to get my license, and they used the 500s. I liked them so much, I rushed out to buy one! Since getting mine, I've only done the Screamin Eagle Slip-on, Intake kit, and just a few days ago got the Stage 1 download. Loving it so far!

The riding academy was cool. It was a day longer than the other MSF courses in Texas, and the reason why was because day 1 (4 hours) was spent touring the dealership, meeting the various people that work there, team building, and the history of HD.

Could have been done faster by leaving that out, but I enjoyed it. I obviously enjoyed the bike... otherwise I wouldn't have rushed out to buy one

Thanks, and correct, it's the HD upgraded tune. It makes a difference, at least 180 bucks worth. More throttle response than anything else.

How much of a discount did you get on your Street since you did the HD riding academy?

No discount... And these bikes were too new for me to even try and negotiate. I ended up paying 8400 out the door, which was fair, considering another dealer down the road wanted 9600 for the same bike... But it had the denim paint, I know that's like another 3-400 bucks.
