First thing to do is pull firmly upward on the seat strap so it gives you a little space. After it's loosened up, remove the screw at the rear of the seat. Press downward on the middle of the seat with one hand and pull back with the other. This will pull it off of the tab on the frame. The first couple times will take more effort. If you remove the seat strap afterwards removal becomes super simple.
when I first got my bike, I had already decided the seat strap had to come off, I never carry passengers anyway.....so instead of the hassle trying to pull the seat from under the strap, I just cut the strap off.
then once the seat was off, I removed the screws that held the strap.
Don't worry about hurting anything. So long as you're not wearing anything that can cut the seat you won't damage it. Stand on the left (kick stand side) and place your palm down firmly where the seat begins to flatten out at the front. Keep a lot of force on it. You should see the seat kind of bow upward when you have enough force on it. Then grab the back of the seat with your right hand (still pressing on the seat) with the left hand and tug it back. It will pop the plastic seat frame of the tab. It does take some force.
