I'm a Sportster fan but love the Street. All the years Big HD spent in R&D on its various projects finally have come to life. I hope that the Street is a big success and doesn't go the way of the great machines like the XLCR, XR1000, & XR1200.

+1 on being a Sporty fan and liking the Street.
Reading around on the 'net, I think the lack of smaller displacement bikes has kept HD out of the newbie/younger market. Many riders seem to want to start on a smaller bike, and the Street 500 may be the ticket. Also the newer technology in the engine probably is more appealing to the younger generation. In my younger days, I didn't really consider a Harley because the prices were more than 700cc (+or-) metric bikes. The pricing of the HD Streets is competitive with the new Honda and Yamaha models.
I believe HD will do well with the Street.

It was usually the older bikes that were lower in CC's from how i saw it.
At least now we have a new lower CC, down segment bike, which looks just as badass as anything else HD sells

Hello Edster,
Thumbs up on living in TX. I love ridding in your state. I'm trying to get the wife to look at retiring there. Maybe around Tyler or Austin. Have you seen the courthouse in Waxahachie? If not ride on up some time it’s really something to see.

To bad they no longer make the XR1200 Sportster, 2012 was the last year in production. I bought the last 2012 XR1200X here in the North West. I do love the bike.
