HI
I'm looking to use a lift under the Street rod to do some work.
I have read a few posts about it here.
The service manual says to use Harley Fat jack HD-45968.
Now that jack is a flat scissor lift. under the bike there are two raised flat ovals on the engine.
These are the lowest points on the bike. If I used this jack these ovals under the engine would be where the jack makes contact and lifts the bike.

The frame tubes are well above the engine.
Is this right? Lift using the flat ovals on the sump?
They look like they are reinforce, there is no way to lift off the frame.
Anyone got any ideas?

Regards

RDF.

I loosened and dismantled the four screws (blue arrow), so I had the two brackets in my hand.
Next I removed the rubber pad (black arrow).
Get aluminum strips in the width and length of the rubber pads (white circle 1) I took 3mm thick aluminum strips and then put 4 pieces on top of each other, the 5th aluminum strip is a little longer (white circle 2) but has the same width.
I couldn't make it any higher, otherwise the jack wouldn't fit under the Harley (black line with the red triangle).
Then I drilled holes in both aluminum strips and attached them to the brackets with countersunk screws (white arrow with countersunk screw).
Everything was put back together and then taped over with duct tape to prevent scratches on the Harley's frame.
I hope I could be of some help to you...

Has been on the motorcycle jack since November 2022, but I secured it with a belt, which also remains secured when it is mounted on the motorcycle.

Sorry, I translated with my cell phone and it didn't really work out.
Thanks for the translation... @Lesblank
Not a problem. Remember I lived in Germany for a few years and could make out about half of it, just needed the rest to understand.

Hello Ratdog Fink
my motorcycle is always on the lift from November to March, so I can clean it much better and the service is also easier.
And I also protect the tires with it.
Since the guarantee has expired and the costs for the service are too expensive for me, I prefer to do it myself and only have material costs.
For the photos I had no other possibility to show you how I solved the problem and did it.
Well then have fun rebuilding.

greetings enRico

Thanks for your reply. The bike looks nice, painted side panels, screen, panniers, exhaust. Have you received mapped the ECU to stage 1 for the exhaust?
The best pizza I've ever had was in Frankfurt.

The side panels are painted HD Orange by my brother, the cases are from Motea.com, the windshield is from MRA (it's over 10 years old and was previously on a Suzuki LS650) and the exhaust is the original I got when I bought it only replaced the end piece.
Greetings...
