Hi all. Just installed the Luggage rack last night. What a Workout!!! 1st factory bolt came out with no problem. 2 a little bit of difficulty. The Last one didn't want to turn. The 6mm Allen turned into a 1/4" as it rounded out. Had to use an Impact Driver and Hammer. Driving it forward and backwards several times. Eventually I was able to use a 1/2" Breaker Bar with socket to get it to come loose.
Installed the new Bolts, Docking Mounts and Spacers. Went to install the rack. Wasn't lining up correctly. Had to remove one of the Spacers(On the rear). Now its on. The Whole Project took about 1 hour. Called my dealer for advice. The Service Writer told me one of their Techs broke one of the bolts and had to drill. As a Courtesy I called him back today and told him I managed to get it to loosen.

Next Month I am getting the Sissy Bar and backrest. Hopefully before May 2016 I can get some Good Leather type bags. As I will be needing them for the MS: Coast The Coast Tour. I do Volunteer work. As a Motorcycle Escort. I carry a Tire Pump, Tool bag, First Aid kit, GPS, Etc.

@Tucsonmax1,

I had to remove two spacers to get mine to work. For what it may be worth the SADDLEMEN EXPRESS CRUIS'N TRUNK BAG fits nicely, on the rack, secured around the sissy bar with the attached Velcro strap and a couple of bungees from the bag D rings on to the rack frame.

I've installed mine - took only a few minutes

If you read the instruction sheet it actually tells you where to place the washers to make it line up properly - you have 3 options

Love the rack, I mixed it up and got the black pack rack and the chrome sissy bar - nice mix

From whr u purchased in India, generally all the sellers provide the necessary hardware required....u should check with him, if anything is missing....

As far as installation is concerned, its a child play, only think u need to take care abt is unscrewing ur stock screws, they might get tricky.....

I installed mine yesterday. About $590 Oz.
Rack 50300091 $268
Sissy Bar 52300307 $107
Backrest 52300281 $67
Docking Kit 52300285 $54
Lockable Latch 90300086 $94

Very happy with it, relatively straight forward install.
Very quick to remove and locking latch means I'm not worried it'll disappear.
Went original because I like the look and was worried other aftermarket wouldn't be so straight forward to install.

i have purchased my back rest and sissy bar with luggage rack from India yesterday, waiting on it to come, just wanted to know what people did when they had trouble removing the screws?
hoping i dont have any issues but i am worried i may round the bolt and not be able to get it off.
i dont care about wrecking the bolts as i work in a bolt shop and can get whatever i need :)
thanks for help,
really looking forward to customizing my bike, ive got a few ideas of what i want to do :)

I did use the Correct Socket. The Red Thread Loctite is what caused the bolt to round out. My Dealer told me they broke one getting it out.

seems like the supervisor on the assembly line needs to be better trained, so they can better train those that actually apply this stuff.

I JUST got mine out. They used red thread locker like it was lube. Holy crap. I guess some Harley employees don't understand how it works.

Maybe its the photo. But it looks like the Threads came out with it.

It must be the photo. The threads are fine on the from two and one rear. One rear is messed up.

Just installed the Sissy Bar and Backrest today. Took 5 minutes to actually install. And I used a Torque Wrench. 60 Ft Pounds on those two bolts. 4 Ft Pounds on the Backrest Screws. I need to stay out of my dealership.
