I think the bike sounds better, more refined than other Harleys (air cooled) but if you want it louder and deeper sounding just get an aftermarket slip on exhaust. Screaming eagle is what I went with but there are a few out there to choose from.
OP notes that he does have a V&H FP3, which will allow you to change the idle speed through through an entire range of engine temperatures. V&H notes in app that 900 rpm is the minimum speed to have adequate oil pressure. The idle speed is not adjustable on the Streets.
I thought you could do anything, with the proper programmer, a little knowledge and a laptop? The idle speed is not adjustable on the Streets.
Ahh I see thank you, mine drops about to the same although I might drop the idle a tad when its cold, seems if I don't let it idle long enough it idles really high when I ride. When I cut throttle to shift, its like I never let off the throttle at all, stays at a high RPM.OP notes that he does have a V&H FP3, which will allow you to change the idle speed through through an entire range of engine temperatures. My V&H CO Slip On, No Baffle, Hi-Flow filter shows an operating idle of 1504 up to 150 degrees F, then drops down to 1200 as the engine temp rises.
I'm content with the sound (pulled the baffling) I was wonder if anyone knew of adverse effects on dropping the idle 400-500RPMS. Want more of a chug sound at idle.
