I've seen that also and was wondering the same thing.
hopefully a member will share what it's for with us.
me, I don't have a clue what it's for.

maybe its a mount for a future small turbo chargerI'd never noticed it before. Perhaps one of our techs can shed some light on the subject. It's there for a reason but............................?
I don't have my owners manual with me, but that's strange because CA doesn't do emissions testing on motorcycles, also because I bought mine here in CA and as you can see, I have nothing in those mounting holes? Not saying you're wrong just commenting that it's strange.I read in my owners manual, it is the mount for the purge solenoid on the California models emissions. page 84.
The purge solenoid is up higher, and in that picture on page 84/85 it shows the cap of the rear master cylinder where these holes would be. It's def the rear master cylinder.I read in my owners manual, it is the mount for the purge solenoid on the California models emissions. page 84.
yes, I see what you mean. guess I need to get better reading glasses so I can see the figure illustrations clearer. The purge solenoid is up higher, and in that picture on page 84/85 it shows the cap of the rear master cylinder where these holes would be. It's def the rear master cylinder.![]()
This set up sure would make it much easier to bleed the rear brake without having to expose the reservoir. On the models manufactured in India, this is for a brake reservoir filler cap/hose assembly.
